ONE PARTNER PROFILE: THE ANGOLA PROJECT
The partnership of Willow Creek Community Church, RISE International and Kerus Global Education set out to impact 45,000 students attending schools built by RISE, using the life-skills curriculum, It Takes Courage!
Why education?
Prevention through education is the strongest weapon in the fight against AIDS!
• WCCC provided major funding for travel, training and ITC! materials
• Kerus developed the ITC! curriculum and conducted training in Angola
• RISE provided funding, implementation and the in-country network
Three phases of the project have resulted in:
• 600 teachers and community leaders trained
• Thousands of students taught the ITC! Curriculum
• National Angolan Team established and certified
• Ministry of Education evaluating use of ITC! throughout Angola
