Safety & Wellness

Safety

The staff of Promiseland strive to provide an extremely fun, yet safe classroom environment for your children. The facilities and emergency procedures have been approved by the local Fire Department and a special security identification system is in place for all Promiseland children. Promiseland staff and volunteer are rigerously screened to ensure your child’s safety.

Children who are new to our program must be registered. You may download and print the Registration Form or pick up a copy from any of our computer kiosk locations. After completing this form, your family information will be entered into our church database, and you will be officially registered for Promiseland. We use fingerprint technology to associate parents/guardians with their child.  The fingerprint technology provides us with a greater level of security and protection for our Promiseland kids & families.

Before walking your child to the classroom room, make sure they are wearing the white sticker tag with their name on it. You should keep the white parent tag that has your family I.D. number readily accessible during the service. If Promiseland needs to contact you, your family I.D. number will appear on the video screens in the auditorium or Harvest Cafe. You will be required to show the I.D. tag when you pick up your child from their room.

Wellness

We ask that sick children not attend Promiseland in order to ensure the health of children and staff. If your child needs to stay with you during the service, you can view the service on the video screen in the Harvest Cafe.

The Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a child should not leave home when any of the following symptoms exist:

  1. Fever (over 100.5 degrees).
  2. Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
  3. Any symptom of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox or whooping cough.
  4. Common cold - from onset through one week.
  5. Sore throat.
  6. Croup.
  7. Any unexplained rash.
  8. Any skin infection - boils, ringworm or impetigo.
  9. Untreated pink eye or other eye infection.
  10. Any communicable disease.
  11. Lice, including the presence of eggs or nits.

These are the guidelines that we follow and we expect that a child or volunteer be free of fever for 24 hours before coming back to Promiseland. We do not dispense any medication children. If a child appears to be ill, we will notify the family immediately by posting the child’s I.D. tag number on the video screens in the auditorium or in Harvest Cafe.
